We are thrilled to announce that Momentum Brazil's Fittipaldi work has just won THREE awards at the 2011 Wave Festival. Not to mention, Fittipaldi was the only Brazilian case that took home a Gold in the Promo Category! The work, which began in November 2010, involves simultaneous actions for four clients: Chevrolet, Petrochemical Braskem, Toriba Editor and the driver Emerson Fittipaldi.

"We are very happy with the conquest of these three important awards. This project, produced by Momentum in tribute to the 40th anniversary of this living legend of auto racing, Emerson Fittipaldi, has brought us great pride and satisfaction. We have many activities to develop until 2012, when Emerson celebrates 40 years of his first F1 championship, won at Monza race track, " said MaLa, President of Momentum Brazil.

The Wave Festival

The Wave Festival is one of the most important "communication showcases" in Latin America. Held in Rio de Janeiro, from 18 to 20 June, it joins the biggest names from LATAM communication and awards all works that  can stand out in Cannes. CONGRATULATIONS MOMO US ARMY TEAM AND JIAN SHOKOUHI

On Wednesday, May 5, the Momentum Chicago office was visited by LTG Benjamin C. Freakley, the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Accessions Command.  With Chris Weil in attendance, LTG Freakley addressed the Army team and thanked them for their outstanding work in events and sponsorship, helping the Army exceed its recruiting mission.

Referencing the All-American Bowl, NASCAR and NHRA programs, and the highly visible "Strength in Action" tours, LTG Freakley recognized the innovation Momentum has delivered and encouraged the team to continue out-of-the-box thinking.

The highlight of the day came when LTG Freakley honored one of our own, Jian Shokouhi, Manager, Business Leadership.  Jian was presented with a General's coin, which is a long-standing Army tradition in recognizing individuals who go above-and-beyond in their service to the U.S. Army.  Jian was reminded to "always put the mission first" and "never leave a fallen Soldier behind".  Words that are directly transferable to how Momentum moves it forward.

Congratulations to all!  Way to go!

Welcome to the new Momo MySite!

Welcome Back-The Portal is now YOURS!

Over the past two years since we launched, we have continuously reached out for your thoughts and collective feedback about:

- how you are using the portal

- what you love about it and hate about it and most of all...

- if you do not use it, WHY NOT!?

Well, the world has changed a lot in the two years since we launched the portal. We're all blogging. We Tweet. We Facebook constantly. We have taken the internet into our own hands. And you told us, you want to make the portal your OWN. To customize it so you have one place you can go on the web for both your personal and your professional activities.  So, drum roll please, we are pleased to introduce:

mySite: YOUR Momentum Portal

 A quick overview of mySite

TABS: tabs.jpg

We have provided you with five tabs:

HOME: contains all of the content you are used to from the former portal: Momo News, the Aggregate Blog that lists the latest blog entries from around the world, What's Hot video player, a link to the wikis you belong to and the public wikis, and a new feature- a newsfeed that is constantly updated with industry news!

MY WIKIS: Devoted to your wikis. Click this tab to edit your wikis, create new pages, etc. A wiki is essentially a user generated web site; an online bulletin board that allows one to publish and share content online immediately. Wikis can be set up for teams, offices or projects. If you'd like a wiki set up, please email momnait@momentumww.com.

MY BLOGS: Lists your blog(s.) Click here to edit your blog, upload content, etc. A Blog is an online journal where people share photos, videos, and their thoughts with their colleagues. On your first log on to the portal, your personal blog is automatically created. Click on "My Blogs" and customize your blog today!  Also, if you want to start a blog for your office, your team, or about just anything, email momnait@momentumww.com and we will set them up for you!

TOOLS: We've pulled together a listing of several of the tools Momentum provides - Momo.edu, WebCargo, Adware, etc.  If there are tools you would like listed on the TOOLS page, send your suggestion to mif@momentumww.com.

SEARCH: The search engine searches the portal and all of its contents - even the contents of uploaded files and attachments!  Take it for a spin!

NEW TAB:  This is all about YOU! You can add several tabs and customize the pages to your liking by adding whatever widgets you want...

Wait! WIDGETS? What are WIDGETS!!??

Widgets are little tools (technically pieces of programming codes embedded in an image file that draw in content or directly connect you to content outside of the portal) that you can download and plug into your pages so you can have everything in one place, right at your fingertips. Basically, you create your own dashboard that works for YOU. For instance, download a G-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter widgets and access them from your personal tabs instead of bouncing around the web from site to site! Other popular widgets are news readers, stock tickers, weather, interactive graphs, charts, and other statistical media. And our partner, Netvibes, is the largest aggregator of widgets available online...with nearly 200,000 widgets to choose from. Simply click on "NEW TAB" on the tab bar and click "ADD CONTENT" in the upper left.

TRAINING

We will be hosting several trainings in the coming weeks (online and offline) but ask that you PLEASE send any comments, questions or feedback so we can incorporate them into our training plan. For general help, please email momnait@momentumww.com or call 314-646-6880.

ENJOY MYSITE, YOUR MOMENTUM PORTAL!  And again, please send us feedback! mif@momentumww.com

Momentum McCann 'cleans up' at Assegai Awards

Momentum McCann's Pikitup "Clean City. Clean Game" campaign has been recognised by the direct marketing industry's equivalent of the Oscars, the Assegai Awards, for proving what has long been suspected - tight budget conditions do not mean the death of brands. Far from it - they can actually spur them on to greater, more innovative heights.

The brand activation agency won two awards: Gold for Alternative Media - Activations and Silver for Multiple Media - Integrated Campaigns . The awards were for a highly successful Clean Up Day held in June this year, that attracted an incredible 30 000 participants and produced a massive 68 000 bags of refuse.

Momentum McCann MD, Wayne Parry, comments, "Through innovative media usage we were able to quadruple an initial investment of R5-million, resulting in an approximate return of R20-million. This provided indisputable proof of the effectiveness of our campaign, which undoubtedly impressed the judges."

The agency has revolutionised the image of the Pikitup brand since it won the business in October last year, from a traditional waste disposal company to a 21st century

environmental company, as espoused by the 'three Rs' re-duce, re-use, recycle.

It has utilised the analogy of a global event like the 2010 Soccer World Cup, as it relates to the business of running a world-class city like Johannesburg. This has resulted in the agency crafting the 'clean city, clean game' positioning, encapsulated by the pay-off line 'pitch in', which cleverly plays on this association.

Parry elaborates that the thinking that underpins the overall Pikitup activation strategy for 2010 and beyond, is that South Africa has achieved so much in such a small amount of time.

"If we can achieve the rapid construction of world-class stadia and fast-paced infrastructural development that we already have, all of which will feed into the economy for many years to come, surely we can take care of the small stuff like cleaning up our cities?"
